Turning ideas into an experience people can feel
Esther Perel’s work has shaped how millions of people think about relationships, intimacy and human connection. From her book, Mating in Captivity to the long-running podcast, Where Should We Begin, her ideas sit in a rare space: clinically informed, culturally resonant and deeply personal to the people who encounter them.
Sessions Live expresses that body of work as a two-day immersive gathering in Brooklyn, New York and online to attendees across the world. Its audience spans professional and public worlds: therapists, practitioners, cultural thinkers and people deeply interested in exploring relational health, intimacy and human connection.
Across multiple venues, digital platforms and a global audience, the challenge was to create an experience that still felt intimate, coherent and emotionally connected.
Designing for connection
Sessions Live is designed to move beyond a traditional conference format, creating an in person and virtual environment centred around conversation, reflection and shared experience. Across the two days, the event combines clinical presentations with shared moments designed to encourage reflection and connection between attendees.
Since 2025, Mint Partnership has helped shape how audiences encounter this annual event, from narrative structure and audience flow through to the atmosphere and emotional rhythm surrounding it.
The work extends beyond the talks themselves. It includes every aspect of the attendee journey, from communications to evening experiences that use all five senses to expand on the themes of intimacy and attention, alongside physical spaces that nurture shared connection around the formal programme.
Audience feedback consistently reflected the impact of this approach, with attendees describing the event as emotionally resonant, deeply connective and noticeably more engaging across both the physical and virtual environments.
“Thank you for a beautiful and moving learning experience. The quality of the speakers and performers you bring together offers such a unique conference”
Expanding the experience beyond the venue
Mint Partnership translates the identity and tone of the brand across the wider event ecosystem, from ticketing and registration pages through to attendee communications, the event app, signage, partner activations and digital touchpoints.
This creates consistency between how Sessions Live is marketed and how it feels once audiences arrive. Communications, digital touchpoints and physical environments are designed to feel connected, helping the event move fluidly from the moment a participant considers attending through to the final moments of the gathering.
This became particularly important for virtual attendees, many of whom described feeling fully included in the atmosphere and emotional pacing of the event despite not being physically present.
“There’s something magical in how you cultivate an experience of aliveness for your virtual audience.”
Building cultural relevance without losing integrity
Sessions Live occupies a unique space. It must speak to more than one kind of audience. For relationship therapists and practitioners, the experience needs to carry the professional weight of Esther Perel’s work in a way that feels credible and engaging. Those arriving through her wider cultural influence need an experience that feels open, human and accessible without becoming simplified.
Mint Partnership holds that balance in how the event is framed, paced and communicated. Messaging invited people in without flattening the subject matter. Attendee communications set expectations before arrival. The event journey helped people move through the gathering with clarity. Partner and sponsor moments were shaped to feel part of the environment rather than interruptions to it.
More than a conference
The result was an event that could feel culturally alive without becoming superficial and professionally grounded, without feeling closed off.
The event requires more than strong programming or promotion. Working alongside Masters Events and the Esther Perel Global Media team, Mint Partnership helps shape the wider attendee experience through communications, experience design and audience journey strategy, alongside consultation on paid media. The work helps translate Esther Perel’s body of work into an environment that holds its professional weight while feeling thoughtful, human and emotionally attuned.
Sessions Live has become more than an annual event. It is a recurring cultural gathering built around Esther Perel’s work and the community that forms around it.
By connecting attendee communications and experience design, Mint Partnership helps create a more coherent relationship between the ideas, the event and the people it is intended to reach.
The result is not simply greater visibility. It is a gathering where the work becomes tangible.
